MISSION:

- Our backend stack powers real-time transactions, personalized offers, and high-throughput integrations with top partners (banks, telcos, lifestyle brands).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Leadership:
- Design and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services.
- Analyze requirements, design and refine system architecture, and drive technical decisions with a microservices mindset.
- Build and standardize shared core libraries to ensure consistency and reduce development duplication across services.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, mentor team members, and foster technical growth.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted workflows (GitHub Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development.
- Work effectively in a cross-functional team, collaborating with product managers, designers, Front-end engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
- Take ownership of critical backend modules and ensure their scalability, reliability, and observability.
- Collaborate with Technical Manager to design long-term architecture roadmap and tech standardization plan.
- Act as a decision-maker in choosing technologies, libraries, and system patterns for the team.
Mentorship & Collaboration:
- Mentor and coach developers in both technical skills and engineering mindset.
- Conduct code reviews, technical workshops, and pair-programming sessions.
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment on delivery goals.
- Contribute to the internal best-practice library (design patterns, coding standards, CI/CD templates).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years working with Node.js and microservices.
- Design and implement systems that can handle high volumes of data and traffic.
- Strong experience in system architecture design and backend performance optimization.
- Solid knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases, caching strategies, search engines, and distributed systems.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and conducting code reviews.
- Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Implement secure coding practices and work closely with the security team to ensure the security of the platform.
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making abilities.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Deliver well-structured, reusable backend services within deadlines.
- Improve team delivery velocity and reduce bug rate via mentorship & review culture.
- Lead at least one technical initiative (e.g., architecture refactor, DevOps improvement, or AI tool integration).
Leadership & Mindset:
- Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Owner ship mindset—proactively solving problems and suggesting improvements.
- Experience working in AI-assisted development environments is a strong plus.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs or working in fintech / loyalty platforms.
- Contribution to open-source projects or technical communities.
