JOB DESCRIPTION:
Mission:
- We’re building a scalable loyalty and fintech ecosystem that connects millions of users across Southeast Asia.
- As a Backend Engineer, you will focus on hands-on backend development, owning backend services and modules end-to-end. This role emphasizes technical depth, system reliability, and code quality, without people-management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Backend Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Node.js.
- Build and evolve backend systems following microservices or modular architecture.
- Develop RESTful APIs for web, mobile, and partner integrations.
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned backend services or modules (design, implementation, testing, deployment support).
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability under high traffic.
Code Quality & Operations:
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards, security, and best practices.
- Debug and resolve complex backend issues in production environments.
- Proactively refactor code and reduce technical debt.
- Apply secure coding practices to protect systems and user data.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Frontend, Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver features on time.
- Analyze business requirements and propose appropriate technical solutions.
- Support release activities and ensure backend stability after deployment.
Tools & Productivity:
- Use CI/CD pipelines, logging, and monitoring tools effectively.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve productivity when appropriate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills:
- 3+years of backend software development experience.
- 2‒3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js in production systems.
- Experience with event-driven architecture or message queues.
- Strong experience building backend services for high-traffic applications.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous processing, and backend performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, caching (e.g.,Redis).
- Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with Git and Agile/Scrum development processes.

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Quality-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem solving.
- Clear communication skills in a cross-functional team environment.
- No people management or team leadership responsibilities required.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs or working in fintech / loyalty platforms.
- Contribution to open-source projects or technical communities
Nice to Have:
- Ability to analyze, review, and improve the complex legacy code
- Experience integrating fintech, payment, loyalty, or third-party partner systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience working in large-scale product systems in Vietnam.
- Prior exposure to AI-assisted development environments
